I'm Radhika. My pronouns are she/her. I am a Counseling Psychologist & Movement Therapy Facilitator.

My practice is driven by a somatic & trauma-focused approach. It aims to facilitate a process that helps you bridge and strengthen the connection between the mind and body. I believe that the body holds more than we know and my approach centers around finding ways to assess the body in a safe way.

I am well aware of the role that social and political structures can play in shaping our understanding of self and the world. I actively work towards decoding and challenging these systems, integrating an intersectional, queer affirmative and contextual lens.

As a therapist, I believe that every person has their journey and they receive therapeutic modalities differently. I take a collaborative approach with my clients to co-develop practices that work for them based on feedback and active participation from the client.

Get To Know Me Better!

I have always appreciated spaces of support for my own self. I acknowledge the importance of having a space where one can share their most intimate experiences with a sense of trust and safety. I wish to facilitate these space for people and it motivates me to be in this profession.

It is natural to feel scared to step into the unknown. But before we focus on learning how to swim, maybe let’s try to dip our feet in the water and see how it feels first – and that could be day 1.

The first session may look different for everyone. There’s no necessity to share everything about your life and issues in the first session. I usually begin where the client is at and what is more present for them. It may seem that you are talking more initially but this is to get a perspective of your world before I share my observations. Even if you don’t know where to begin, we can first connect to get to know each other and work at your pace.

Therapy with me can be where we co-develop practices that work for the client based on feedback and active participation. Therapy is a collaborative process which calls for active and often brave participation on your part. ‘Active’ because this process requires a commitment for you to explore the concerns that brought you to counselling, and ‘brave’ because the process of knowing yourself better or changing behaviour can be challenging. At times, the process may stir up feelings of discomfort & bring up difficult feelings that may make you feel like you’re getting worse rather than better. It is essential to remember that the more you bring these feelings to the sessions, the more they can be understood in your context and the more meaningful counselling will be for you.

A relationship that is created on trust and safety, it is an honor to be able to get a window seat to someone’s inner world. To be able to witness narratives, difficult experiences, visceral shifts and honest conversations unfold in the healing journey of an individual’s life.

My non-diagnostic & non-pathological approach to mental health. I view concerns from a social-cultural-political context of the person coming in. I also work with exploring the connection between mind & body and not just thoughts.

“I am really glad to have an amazing person like you as a therapist”

Therapy is not a magic wand or quick fix but it will facilitate the process to sustainable care for yourself. And we don’t give “advice”. You may just want to be told what to do but that’s not what therapy is. Therapy is a process that will help empower you to recognize that you and you alone know what’s best for you.

What My Clients Say About Me!

My experience with Ms. Radhika has been nothing short of wonderful. Having been in therapy for long, I know how important it is to find the right therapist to truly start the healing journey. I feel heard, seen & acknowledged in the sessions. Working with her has not only made me aware & conscious of my triggers and patterns, but also provided me with the right set of tools to break those patterns and disempower those triggers. The sessions have also helped me be more present in my life, and gradually let go of the rumination about the past or the future. The somatic practices that she introduces in the sessions time-to-time, have been simple yet very effective for me to recognize the stress centers of my body and to gently release that stress. It's safe to say that during my therapy journey with Ms. Radhika, I have become a better person who is more self-aware, self-compassionate, loving, gentle and responsible; traits that I wasn't completely familiar with earlier.

This experience has been so insightful and holistic for me, as I've developed a lot as an individual through therapy. I've come to learn how getting therapy is not to "fix" something inside of you. It is just about learning how to develop tools to make life easier. I've grown and healed so much since I started therapy with her, that I can very clearly see the changes it has brought in my life, in my relationships, in how I view myself and the people around me. The process of healing is sometimes draining and also painful, but it has been absolutely worth the effort.
