Are you a people pleaser?

Is your social battery constantly on low?

You could be a full-time People Pleaser

Here’s why –

We all want to be liked and accepted, bending over backwards to make others happy, even at the expense of our own needs. But sometimes the desire to please others can take over our lives.

The iceberg analogy is a great way to understand why people-pleasing happens. The tip of the iceberg, the part you see above the water, is all about being nice: friendly, helpful, reliable. But beneath the surface (the much larger part of the iceberg) lies the hidden costs of people-pleasing:-

Fear of rejection: We panic people won’t like us if we say no.

Fear of being alone: We crave approval to feel good about ourselves.

Low self-esteem: That inner voice whispers we’re not good enough.

Constantly saying yes can be a burden. It can lead to:

Burnout: We get drained from putting everyone else’s needs before our own.

• Resentment: We build up frustration because we never say no.

Anxiety: The constant worry of disappointing people keeps us on edge.

Here’s how to break free from people-pleasing:

Set boundaries: It’s okay to say no! You don’t have to agree to everything everyone asks.

Prioritize your needs: What makes YOU happy? Make time for things that make YOU happy and recharge you, not just everyone else.

Practice self-compassion: Be kind to yourself, even when you make mistakes.

Find your tribe: Surround yourself with people who value and appreciate you for who you are, not what you can do for them.

Know your worth: What makes YOU unique and amazing? Focus on your own strengths and celebrate your accomplishments.
